The Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department (WASD) is responsible for delivering clean water to nearly 2.3 million residents (7). The Roman Empire's Cloaca Maxima water system was made up of eleven aqueducts which provided water to public baths, fountains, and houses (3). The water system served the same purpose it does in the U.S. removing waste and supplying high quality water for drinking and bathing.
